^actually, in my rope halter, it just slides over his nose quite nicely! hahaha. i didn't know it would do that, and then i asked for change of direction, and it just went right over. hahah
but in a normal nylon halter i get why it would go underneath

Its still supposed to go under because as he lopes it will flop on his nose n shit, also, if you need to take control of him there isnt much stopping power by pulling on the rope that goes across the nose.
