So, I went riding on Monday for the first time in a couple weeks (that play kept me away from the barn, which drove me crazy), and my friend took some pics & videos of Dustin and me. You can critique if you want... I don't really care... but keep in mind that it was my first time riding in a couple weeks, and that I ride saddleseat. (Oh, I know I'm leaning forward; Im working on that). www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3-JoX4Sylw^ Cantering the first way. Haha, you can hear my trainer saying "He's not acting like a maniac!" She and my friend were talking about a gunshot we had heard a few minutes before. It was pretty loud, and Dustin didn't freak out like they thought he would. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lH7Jk5ppOOE^ Cantering the 2nd way. He wasn't quite as good that way, because we had just heard a 2nd gunshot right before we started cantering. www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1qZz_Gi0FY^ flat-walking. Again, it's not my best riding, but I've gotta get back in shape, lol. Plus, Dustin was being awesome so that's all that matters. He barely spooked at the gunshots, he was actually doing flat/running walks instead of trotting/racking, and he didn't freak out at all. So yay

Thanks Ugh. I rode him again today, and he was awesome again. I didn't use my saddle though, because it doesn't fit him well, and the one i used is an inch too small for me, so my butt hurts... haha. It used to fit me, and it used to be really comfortable! I guess I grew But yeah, he didn't spook at ALL today, and his gait was REALLY consistent.

thats great that hes doing so well. I used to use a saddle and it was so comfurtable. Then one week it didnt fit me at all. It was probably one of my most uncomfurtable lessons ever!

He did well again! I used my saddle this time, and his gait was still consistent, so it doesn't seem like the fit of the saddle contributes to the gait problems. He's been awesome for me this week
