soooo happy =] Spirit update

Okay, well basically.. the barn has been treating Spirit like he's my horse.. which makes me insanely happy lol

So anyway, like yesterday Brian (barn manager) asked me permission to body shave Spirit.. he was like "do you want me to shave him for you tomorrow?" I was like wow lol.. and really happy because they realize that I put so much work into that horse So anyway, I said yes of course =] But I didn't get to go out there today, and I sooooo badly want to see what he looks like.. I heard he looks adorable =]

Anyway, I'm going to start my lease on him in June and I can't wait ^_^ I'm like, the only one who rides him so he REALLY needs to constant exercise that I'll be giving him.. and then I'll have more time to work with him on his vices and such

haha this is really long.. but I'm bored so it's all good =]

Anyway, last Friday I rode him and he was AMAZING. I did a few courses with him, and he was absolutely perfect.. He spooked once at the ice cream man haha... but besides that, he was fine.. Not spooky, didn't get overly hyper, stayed collected, and got all his leads and lead changes =]

But thenn yesterday I rode him.. and I hadn't ridden him since Friday because I went away... so he hadn't been out in a while, and he hadn't been turned out or lunged at all yesterday (which was my fault, but I was really busy with stalls and then walking for beginners).. When I got on him, he was a complete nut, which boothered me because I was like I should have lunged him.. but oh well. He was ultra spooky, anxious, and hyper.. but I got him to calm down and he wasn't terrible. After I got some nice work out of him, I just ended it. But yeah.. besides yesterday, I've been really proud of him lately =] He's been trying so hard for me, and it makes me really happy. I've been getting a lot of compliments from the trainers and stuff too, which is always awesome.

So yeah, that's how he's been. I need to get some new riding pics of him soon. He's gotten really chubby lol.. So I'm hoping to get him to lose some of that during my lease, also.

awww, jessi thats awsome! im soo glad that they are treating him like your horse, it makes you feel good and im glad he's been soo good latley, he's such a cute ..i thought you had already started the lease on him though haha, oh well, good job!!
