So, I've just been lunging Levi lately, and basically said screw this. I lunged him for 20 mins, he had NO bucks in him to let out, so then I got on him and did just a little walk trot. He was amazing. He was sooo good. I'm still trying to fix the horrible habits that were taught to him through "natural horsemanship" but he's understanding what I'm asking him to do now. I was walking him out at the buckle. He is as calm as ever. Honestly, I just think that my horse doesnt like other people riding him. I stopped to talk to my mom for a second, and he just put his foot up to rest. I'm putting up pics from yesterday in the other section . Although my mom didnt get any riding pictures I'll make her do it today!

Rebecca, he's on the U-7 which is an antacid (if there are any ulcers, it doesnt make them bother him, but if there are its not curing them).

yeah, I thought I read somewhere that that's what he was on. There are a few horses at my barn on U-7 as well

well when a horse bucks on a lunge its because they are not paying attetion. Instead of just trot/cantering around in circles do alot of turns with him keep him thinking.

I'm glad he did so well, Lindsay! I really hope it's the ulcer thing, instead of behavioral issues like you first thought. The ulcer thing is fixable! Keep us posted on how he's doing!

well when a horse bucks on a lunge its because they are not paying attetion. Instead of just trot/cantering around in circles do alot of turns with him keep him thinking. What are you talking about? A horse doesnt JUST buck because they arent paying attention. First off, some horses just have energy that they need to let loose. My horse thinks perfectly about what I ask him to do when I'm on him, and I dont know about you, but I'm constantly doing something with a green horse (whether its setting their head, moving them off my leg, whatever). My horse does pay attention on the lunge line too, especially when he has side reins on. So I'm not too sure what you're thinking about...
