Well... Lets do this day by day:
Wednesday: the show, went well, but i had a really bad throat while i was there and i culd tell it was the start of tonsilitious. So i was so out of energy when i got home, i callasped on the sofa and went to sleep. But jimbo was great he was turned out and fine, i think he enjoyed himself, he certainly had his ears pricked most of the time.
Thursday: Mega ill, sent home from school and slept on the sofa all day, went to the doctors in the evening and he said it was tonsilitious so gave me medication. I rang the yard up and Debbi said he'd been checked for me and they'd moved him from the showjumpers field to the geldings field.
Friday: Managed to get down, in the rain, to see him. Still slightly ill but better then before. He was footsore when i led him in from the field to groom him and kerry had said the farrier had been. No-one belived me he was footsore because Debbi has the best farrier around. So i left him in anyway to see if a nights box rest would do the trick. I had noticed a toe clip looked wrong but everyone said it'd be fine. they thought i wa sbeing paranoid.
Saturday: Mum went down in the morning and he could hardly walk he was real bad. Debbi said it was because he had been in all night and was just stiff but i was like 'hang about... no horse, unless it has something wrong with it's joints, should get stiff from one night in a stable' anyway my mum turned him out.
Saturday afternoon/evening: Went to get him from the field and he could still barely walk. He was better then int he morning, but Kerry yelled at me for keeping him in and told me i had ruined him because now he was lame. So Debbi had a look and said 'Steph your right, that toe clip is digging in' So me and Abie spent 20 minutes hosing his legs from the knee down, and Debbigace him some pain killer stuff, and then the farrier came and re-did the shoe. After that he was better but not sound so i left him in again. And i got a ride on Smartie, me and Abie both rode her and did a course of fences which was fun, i love riding that mare
Sunday: Mum went and did him in the morning. In the afternoon i wet down and walked him for 15 minutes in hand and there was barely any lamness [weather was still horrid i each leg and then gave him some bute [we had givmight add] hosed his legs from the knee down for 5 minutes en him some in the morning as well].
Monday: Lorainne did him in the morning, giving him a new haynet and a feed. Re-fille dhis water bucket. Then i've just been down and he's sound as a pound. The weather is so horrid that there are floods everywhere and Jimbo is sooo full of energy. I walked him for a while in hand because i can't turn him out in this when he's been in the barn for so long, he'll catch a cold or phenemonia [sp?] So he's in again.
Tomorrow the weather should cheer up but in the morning lorainne is guna give him a feed and haynet etc and then Debbi is guna get someone to wlak him in-hand in the morning, if the weathers nice enough she'll turn him out. Then tomorrow afternoon i hope to ride him, only walk and a bit of trot, but thats if the weather is nice enough and the arenas suitable, otherwise it will be walks in-hand. They have saidnit should be fine by wednesday at the latest.
Me and Abie have plans to prpare of the show on thurs, fri and sat. Practising for our classes, i've chosen 65cm jumping, most appealing and rider ability, then we are going to do the pairs jumping again.
I'm hoping he's going to be ok for it, but he's lost no fitnes and everyone has said he should be fine by then, and i will have ridden him more then once by sunday.
Also Abie is sleeping sat night so we can go to the yard and prepare together on sunday
Cookies for whoever reads all of that!!
I'm just so angry at the farrier and now the weather.
