The new barn is much better. But no offence. I hate the stalls, in both barns. I think a horse that has to be kept in a stall should be at LEAST 10x10 with enough shavings and a door. I hate standing stalls. But it is much better. Looks a LOT safer!

^^ Yeahh. I'm not a fan of standing stalls either. The first barn I was ever at had a few of them in the back of the barn and I didn't like them at all. I hate how they would have a hard time turning around (if they even can). It just looks like there's no freedom there.
On the other hand, the new barn looks MUCH better with the lighting and higher ceilings. And just in general it looks a ton better!
The ropes could be a little more secure and sturdy, but I realize that this isn't your barn, and none of the decisions were left to you. It's also too bad the stalls weren't a bit bigger. They say for the average horse (not including draft, TB, or any large breed) a standing stall should be at least 4-5 ft wide and 8ft long. So I'm not sure what the measurements of your stalls are. Anyways, it looks a lot better... it's just too bad they went with standing stalls rather than the box stall or something.

I deffinitly agrea with everyone on the standing stalls. I really thought they were putting box stalls in this barn. Turns out they are putting box stalls in the second barn they build, the second barn will be for boarders. These trail horses go out for most of the day though. So they have plenty of time to burn energy in the turnout. The horses that don't like escaping their stalls arent tied at the front so they can turn around.
The draft horses have wider stalls then the smaller horses. They could improve many things still, and sandra and I both agrea on that, as do you guys im sure cause you pointed out some things. Were not very happy with them right now though.. so when we go back... we'll see if we decided to keep going there or not.
Atleast they've gotten new tack too for some horses and they have all new saddle blankets
