The gel is much better than regular ones. I have the Roma gel ankle boots and I use them everyday. They're great

grr so I ordered ankle boots and open fronts from seperate companies, well come to find out the open fronts are on back order and after waiting 14 days I emailed them to ask why I hadn't gotten them and bam they are like oh those are out of stock, sorry no one told you. GRR. So I told them to cancel it and I ordered them from another company *pissed* but it ended up like $3 cheaper OH and I got a Dr. Cook Bitless Bridle. I am doing my senior exit (a big research project/paper/presentation) on it. I wrote my 7 pg paper last year and got a 96 (while the person first in my class got an 86 ) So this year I am going to use it/ do a scrapbook showing Chey's progression, or lack of with it. If he isn't happy in it I will return it and do my project on how good the theory is but not the product.... But im excited to try it out, especially since he has thrown a hissy fit with his bit lately, and when we changed it he didn't do well either. GRR SO I hope this works out! I will keep yall updated.

Just watch the gel pad. Sometimes the gel doesn't distribute evenly and causes more problems...I'm excited to see this bridle situation..I notice he's in a kimberwick which those bits I just wish they would stop making them but yea i wanna see him go in that hahah.

ya, i know, but I did plenty of research on the gel pad, it cost me an arm and a leg, unfortunatly the cheap ones are the ones that cause problems because the gel condenses, but with high quality ones they serve their purpose... and I talked to multiple chiropracters about this brand and they all reccomended it And ya I hate that hes in a jointed kimberwick, unfort. it is the only bit his owner uses on him (for trail rides/brakes) and the only one she had, but bc i am adamit about changing it we tried a full cheeck snaffle, that didn't go over well, he was really leaning on me in it and the full cheeck rubbed his sensitive pink skin on one side.... So Im going to be trying the bitless bridle for school but also for him, and I am also thinking about getting him either a loose ring or d-ring waterford, its soft on his mouth but he can't lean either... so maybe bitless for schooling and waterford for showing (I have a big show on him Oct 12-14)

I wouldn't say im "against" pelhams, but I hate seeing someone stick their horse who has training issues in a pelham. I think a pelham should serve like a double bridle in the sense that you put your horse in it once they are finished, that way slighter aids can be used to get the same response. I think all training should be done in any variation of a snaffle.
That being said, good luck with the bridle, and enjoy the boots!
