I ordered my Devoucoux Oldara today =]
I decided on the buffalo leather, although MUCH more expensive than grained or even calfskin, it is the most grippy over time and has the fastest beak in time (none-3 rides)
I was a bit reluctant at first as it is foam, but devoucoux said that they can replace the panels at any time for $300. That is a much better deal than having to pay for a saddle to be re flocked every 6 months to a year! Also, I wish the tree had a bit longer warranty (it's 5 years) but I am completely in love with the saddle in all other aspects, so I'm willing to sacrifice some things.
Our areas rep was so knowledgeable and so far I have experience fantastic customer service.
I was going to have to get the grain leather because of money restrictions, but the rep talked to the company and made it so I can make a down payment, the amount of my choice, then make monthly payments for 5 months.
I am so thankful that the rep put so much effort into making this work for us.
For everyone else, I would highly recommend devoucoux. My rep also recommended Antares, but said to stay away from butet and CWD (which i already knew, but anyway..thats another story )
Although custom saddles are expensive, i would highly recommend investing in one rather than sticking your horse in numerous corrective pads.
The saddle should be here in about 8 weeks if all goes well, and I'll post pictures of it then! And I must say, it feels cool to buy something this extravagant all by myself =] (parents are semi supportive, but would rather buy me some Argentinian saddle...)
