Well I havn't said much about the trail barn lately because I havnt been there since the end of August. The last time Sandra and I went there Sarge broke lose when he tried jumping over an electric fence. Danny was gone out on a ride and this happened right before he came back. We got Sarge and the other horse before they got far but Sarge completely destroyed the junky fence... Danny was really mad but he got it fixed. He made it sound like it was our fault that the horse jumped over a fence that was entirely rope.
Well later on he randomly comes over to us and starts lecturing us about something that happened a few days before, that we thought was already solved and it wasnt even our fault. He made a comment that we werent good riders. Which really made us mad because he's never seen us ride except the times that we walked the horses down the path and out of sight. After that he was weird and wouldn't even let us help take the horses out. We've had constant problems like this with them. We always feel like we have to prove ourselves to them. They kept saying they were going to let us ride in the turnout to watch us, and that to see what they might have to do to improve on trail skills but it never happened. They didn't appreciate anything we did for them. And we arent the people who caused any kind of trouble there at all, we put tons of time into helping them and we always wanted to advance with their trust and learn as much as they wanted us to, but that never got better. They were always telling us how to tack, how to hold the horses, and how to do things like clean out the barns which made us feel stupid and that they didnt think we learned squat with them. Especially after being there for a year and already being experianced with that. We had lives beyond them with horses, and I worked with them at a stable, but they never seemed to get that.
Also two of their most dedicated volunteers before us left for the longest time and we were there with them the whole time, we wanted to do as much as we could to help, because we knew they were short some hands. This summer near the end they came back and we got completely forgotten. Things were going so good and after those 2 came back, things went completely down hill for us, and went way up for them. Dont get us wrong though, we really like those 2, and one of them is a pretty good friend of mine. I was a reference for her from my old boss where I worked. (I quit that job) Danny didn't want us to lead anymore after they came back and he was going to let us lead more then we already had.
We've kept this in for a while. We have never said anything about the little respect we've gotten there because it was the only contact with horses we've had since lessons stopped.
I know this is really long and I hope everyone reads it all Thanks
