So as you all know, my saddle is a run down piece of shit =] lol.. nah it's not THAT bad.. like beginner kids and stuff I guess it's fine for.. but idk. I hate it.. First of all, it's an all purpose , the leather is SHIT, ugh I just hate it. It's a terrible saddle ANYWAY so i've been looking for saddles.. so far I like Collegiate and HDR. I'm also looking into Dover.. I just need something affordable, because I'm not wealthy at all and can't afford crazy prices for things. I loveeee pessoas... but they're really expensive new, and I'd rather not get a used saddle. Anyway, my friend Justin has a Paris Tack close contact saddle and LOVES it. He says the leather quality is decent, and that it's really comfortable.. plus it's only like $350 or so. Do any of you have experience with them? I want to look into it if it's a good saddle since it's a great price.. but I don't want to waste my time and money if it's going to be another crappy saddle.

all purpose=no purpose ;D Why don't you want a used saddle? I would advise against ANY new saddle that only costs $350. I sold KR an older beval somewhere in that price range and it' a great saddle. I would definitely go used. If you can get your hands on a used pessoa that was made in england, that would be a great buy. The ones made in england were high quality leather and very well made.

yeah I know, that's why I was like ehhh? if it's only 350.. but then I was looking on some website and it said the retail price is 900 but it's sold for 350? So I'm SO confused.. and on all the reviews it said they got it for about 375.. and Justin got it for 350 so I have NO idea what the deal is.
I don't really want a used saddle because I don't want it to be fucked up.. like with a broken tree, or in bad condition you know? although I guess if I went and looked at it in person it would be better. I just don't want to order a used saddle offline unless I definitely know what the deal is with it.

Buying anything online is always risky, but if you buy from a tack shop they usually have a trial period.

Its actually in my room now, it needs to be cleaned/oiled seeing as I took it on the beach this weekend <3 i7.photobucket.com/albums/y260/DrEsSaGeGuRLe/saddle014.jpg

yeah I know.. I absolutely HATE all purpose. they're crappyyy.. which is why I want a close contact I just wish I knew if these saddles were good or not. Like, if they're originally 900 and are on sale for 350 then I'd consider it.. I just don't know, if the saddle is 350 it's usually not going to be good.. idkkk.. ahhhh =[ www.paristack.com/paristack_test/saddles.html that's the website, what do you guys think? do you think I should just go to the tack shop and browse through their used saddles and see what they can do for me? I would absolutely LOVE to get a beval.. Like, that would be my dream saddle haha. I hear that they are crazyy comfortable and ahh. I would die, lol.. but they're wayyy out of my price range

Yeah, county has jumping saddles, but they're custom and are going to run upwards of $2,000 On the paris saddle, the leather looks cardboard-y and the stirrup bar looks like it's set too far back. It may cause you to struggle to keep a good position.

^^ thanks Rebecca! I'm not good with determining leather quality, etc. by looking at a saddle.. I've only really bought one saddle for myself, and just because my old piece of shit barn threw it at me..so I've pretty much always just ridden in what I've been given. So, I'm really glad that you gave me your honest opinion. I think I'll take all of your advice and go look at some used saddles

If, your going to buy used, go to a good tack store and buy a GOOD quality like, Antares or Beval..anything else used is ehh...yucky, otherwise go with a nice close contact saddle...high quality...last forever...

I agree with nina that you should get a quality saddle, but I think you can find something cheaper than an antares, beval, devoucoux, cwd, tad and other custom or very high quality saddles. You might be able to find a used older collegiate undergrad, pessoa, or dover circuit. If you aren't set on knee rolls you could easily find a crosby PDN in your price range, they are all over the place, or the similar Blue Ribbon.
