Soo, as you probably know, I've been looking for a home for Max in the past little while and I finally found the right place for him! A friend of my dad's from work has a niece who's about 10 years old and she's been looking for a horse of her own for a while now. They came up to the barn today and we had the girl brush him, and then they tossed the *western* saddle up onto him and we brought him up to the sand ring. First they had my dad's friend get on him and within minutes she had him turning on the haunches, backing up and cantering like a breeze. She reallllyyyy liked him, so I was relieved when she jumped off and had the little girls older sister get on and take him around a bit. Lastly the little girl got on and Max knew then and there that she was younger. He didn't pull anything on her, whatever she asked, he attempted to do. It was great to see her up there smiling becase I could just tell it was the right owner and family for him. It's tough at the same time though, to see my little man go. But I knew he'll be well taken care of and get the training and daily attention he deserves! They said I'm welcome anytime to go up and see or ride him whenever and they will be sending me e-mails with pictures and updates. School this year just got to be too much along with 5 days of volleyball, a job, an upcoming missions trip and school work. So I knew it was time for him to find a new home. Anyways, they're coming to get him Monday or Tuesday so it's going to be bitter-sweet to see him leave. I better be able to hold it together when they show up because I definitely can't just sitting here writing this!
