soooooo update!

So I had been doing really well with sonny, and he was starting to get somewhere.. but he's just so damn unwilling and really doesn't want to learn all of the time. Plus, his owner is a really shitty rider and lets him get away with EVERYTHING and is too timid to smack him on the ass with the crop when he's being an asshole because "oh no he's going to buck!" so it was just getting frustrating. Here I am, training this horse who's going virtually nowhere, and when I finally take a step forward, she brings him two steps back.. you know? Plus, I want a horse that's going to take me somewhere for the upcoming show season.. not one that's going to hold me back. So, I stopped my lease.. I think I'm MUCH better off this way. I've moved on to bigger and better things and honestly, I didn't even have much of a bond with him anyway.. he's not really a crazy loveable horse. So, whatever. I'm not heartbroken over it. Plus, I'm still going to ride him for her anyway lol so it's all good =]


ANYWAYYY soooo I'm really into this horse Leo =] I've ridden him a few times, and I think he's a keeper =] Seriously, i haven't been this excited about a horse since Spirit.. and as much as I loveddd spirit, this horse has MUCH more potential. He's a fairly young (not like 5....I'm thinking 7ish? not sure, gotta check his papers) OTTB, with a lot of energy, but a LOT of potential in the show ring.. he's not totally finished, but wayyyyyy more than halfway there. He's built kind of downhill, but once I get him warmed up, he rides beautifully..and it doesn't affect him too much. Seriously, I could use him for whatever I want, he's got the speed for jumpers, comfortable enough for eq to get my form great on him, and light on his feet for hunters. Seriously, I'm like in love! lol I'll get you guys pictures =] He's really cute too =] ahhh love love love!

I don't know who I'm going to end up showing this season, I reallyyyy like Leo, but he needs some work over fences so we'll see.

For those long islandersss, I'm going to the March 30th Thomas' show, and Junior Olympics in April =] I'm definitely excitedddd =] I'm only doing the 2' - 2'3 classes in those because I've never shown before, because my old barn was POS, and I want to start out low for my first show and to start out the season-- I'll be moving up to 2'6 after that, though =] I'm sooooo pumped for this show season, though! We had the show meeting yesterday, and I'm fuckinggg exciteddd! We're going to shitloads of shows, plus sleeping at the barn a few nights, and going on overnight shows and trails upstate and shit I'm like yeahhh.. this barn is a MILLION times better than my old barn! haha
