FINALLY....Windy Update

I'M RIDING WINDY AGAIN!!!!!

she is finally sound!!!


I rode her for the first time in over a year last Wednesday, then again on Monday! She was perfect, not even her usual bitchy self, which was suprising. She was soo excited to get back to work too, she didn't want to stop.

We are obviously taking her rehab pretty slow....we walked trotted and cantered her once each direction the first day and then on Monday we did everyting twice.

She was supposed to get shoes today I think (I wasn't able to go to the barn, because I had to work) because my trainer didn't want to do too much more without shoes on her. We got a new farrier, so we feel confident putting shoes on her again.

Now we think it was the farrier that screwed up her feet really bad. He screwed up another horse at the barn too....my trainer switched to a new farrier and both Windy and the other horse are sound (Windy totally and the other horse almost, he has arthritis too so his recovery is going take a bit more).

The new farrier said that the last farrier was nailing to far into the white wall causing soreness and something else, I can't remember what.

I have 3 pictures, but none of me like "riding" because all of my friends were riding with me at the same time and my trainer was obviously working with us so she couldn't take pictures.

Ahh I rode her on trail today for the first time ever! She was awesomeeeeeee. I am soo glad she is finally sound and that she officially has the OK to trail ride!!! hoorayyyyyyy!!
